We Believe

That the Bible reveals the will of God for every age; that the principles of divine truth found in the scriptures are timeless and eternal and such truths are originally revealed nowhere else. The Christian Churches have no creed but Christ, acknowledge no book but the Bible as their authority. We would speak only where the Bible speaks, and be silent where it is silent. We plead for the restoration of the New Testament Church, in all of it's essentials, and for the unity of all believers in the one church that Jesus established.

Therefore, We preach 1st Century Truth for 21st Century Man. For example...

1. All are sinners, 21st century people not exempted. "For all have sinned and come shorth of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

2. Eternal death is the gloomy prospect that all sinners face, the 21st century variety included, "for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

3. God's love made a way of escape for us. "But God commended his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

4. The guilt of our sins can be removed. "The blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)

5. This cleansing comes as a result of Our believing, obedient, loving response to God's own love and gift.

It begins with the hearing of God's wordl "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)

It continues as faith springs up in our hearts. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved and thy house." (Acts 16:31) (Note: "Believe" is the verb form, and "faith" is the noun.)

Once faith has sprung up in our hearts, it leads us to turn away from sin. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." (Acts 3:19)

Faith also produces confession of Christ. "Because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:19)

Next, we are put in contact with the death of Christ, where His blood was shed to cleanse us. "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:3,4)

We are then new creatures in Christ. (Read 2 Corinthians 5:17) We have been born again of the water and the spirit. (John 3:3-5) We have become his disciples, entitled to wear the name "Christ" in our own new name, "Christian."
